(214) 665-0106For almost 45 years, Leo has concentrated his practice in insurance coverage disputes representing insurance companies and underwriters in the United States and London markets in state and federal courts and in arbitrations. Leo’s practice primarily involves representation in all manner of first-party property insurers on commercial claims, but also includes guidance and counseling insurers on good faith compliance, defense of bad faith allegations, statutory litigation defense, statutory actions, arson and fraud cases, UM/UIM lawsuits and insurance coverage issues under property and associated lines, life and liability policies, as well as ERISA, health and accidental death policies.

Leo is a member of the American Bar Association, Texas Association of Defense Counsel, Dallas Bar Association, Dallas Claims Association, Defense Research Institute, State Bar of Texas, Loss Executives Association, and the National Society of Professional Insurance Investigators. Leo was proud to serve on the Rules Committee for the 2016 Democratic National Convention.
From 1997-2007, he served as Vice-Chairman of the Property Insurance Committee of the American Bar Association. He also served the American Bar Association as Young Lawyers Representative (1987-1989), Vice-Chairman, Communications Committee, Tort and Insurance Practice Section (1990-1992), Associate Editor, Tort and Insurance Law Journal (1990-1992), Vice-Chairman, Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee (1990-1993), Regional Editor for the Property Insurance newsletters, and Fire and Homeowner’s Annotations.
Leo has been rated by Martindale-Hubbell® as “AV® Pre-eminent™ (5.0)” since his first year of eligibility in 1986. This is peer recognition of the highest ratings for professional ethics and legal abilities.
