Judy has acted as coverage counsel for insurance companies in litigation.
(214) 665-0100Judy’s practice focuses on advising insurance companies on coverage issues, analyzing and interpreting insurance policies and determining consequent duties to policyholders in complex circumstances, including analysis of additional insured and contractual indemnity issues. She has represented primary and excess insurers in both litigation and non-litigation matters, as well as appellate cases. Her expertise includes experience with general liability, personal and commercial auto liability, trucking liability, educators liability, professional liability, directors and officers liability, errors and omissions, commercial property, employers liability, employee benefits and specialty program policies, among other areas. In addition to working in the insurance and appellate sections of Dallas law firms known for coverage expertise, she has been a member of in-house coverage sections of two national insurance companies, where she advised claims professionals on coverage issues arising in any of the 50 states, as well as consulting with product developers on drafting new insurance policy forms, directing insurance litigation, and developing and teaching seminars for adjusters throughout the country on claims handling, issue identification and coverage letter drafting.
