Monica Pinon joined the firm in 3Q of 2019 after spending the previous twelve years focusing on different aspects of insurance. From 2006 to 2011, Monica worked at the Texas Department of Insurance in various capacities – including work in health care policy, administrative enforcement, and the financial side of insurance regulation, including licensure and examination issues. From there, Monica worked for one of the largest health insurance companies in Texas focusing on regulatory matters, legislative issues, provider and producer contracts, and more. Her latest transition to Tollefson Bradley Mitchell & Melendi, LLP, will land her in insurance coverage determinations and disputes and a variety of other coverage-related litigation matters and representation.

Monica is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Dallas Bar Association, and the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association. She has presented papers and speeches on a variety of topics for the American Bar Association, the State Bar Association, the Dallas Bar Association, and the Texas Department of Insurance, including updates to the Affordable Care Act, payor innovations in healthcare, compliance issues for continuing care retirement communities, and more.

Monica graduated from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago in 2004 and the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Journalism in Public Relations in 1998.
