Mary Reyes Hartsfield

Mary Reyes Hartsfield practice concentrates on the representation of insurance companies and sometimes policyholders, on coverage, coverage-related, contractual indemnity, and claims handling issues. She works with a wide variety of policies including commercial general liability, business auto and trucking liability, workers compensation and employers’ liability, professional liability, directors and officer’s liability, construction liability, marine liability, property coverage, and all types of personal lines. This includes primary policies, excess and umbrella policies, and both admitted and surplus lines. She also handles insurance disputes both in and out of the courtroom.

In addition to private practice, Mary spent five years as inhouse coverage counsel with a national insurer of medical, dental, health care professional and hospital liability policies. During that time, she gained additional experience in policy drafting, underwriting, and regulatory issues, and provided coverage advice in a multitude of jurisdictions.

Mary is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, and was voted a Texas Super Lawyer in Texas Monthly Magazine in 2004 and 2005. She is a member of the Insurance Committees of the State Bar of Texas, and the Dallas Bar Association.
